Dallas, Texas!

The longest drive yet; 11.5 hours from Taos to Dallas, but I didn't want to spend 50 bucks just to sleep in a random town.  I got an extreme chocolate blizzard in Las Vegas, New Mexico, which is a tiny town, but I didn't eat it all.  I stuck it in the cooler figuring that it would stay cold enough for a while.  However, it didn't.  I took it out a few hours later and ice cream was all over the center console of the car and in the cup holders.  Not to mention I was driving in the middle of nowhere and it was still leaking.  I finally found a gas station, cleaned it all up, washed the windshield, didn't buy gas or anything and was on my way in a clean car.  I didn't need the calories I guess.

This is what I saw for 11.5 hours... flat land, big sky
I arrived in Dallas at 11:30pm and went straight to bed.  Had a lazy day on Tuesday until Katherine came home at 3 and took me on a tour de Katherine of Dallas.  I learned a lot about the city.  Katherine and I went home to watch Grey's Anatomy and wait for Ben (my cousin) to get home.  We had spaghetti and salad for dinner and gelato for dessert.  I had chocolate peanut butter, mint chocolate chip, cookie dough and german chocolate.  It was good!!

On Wednesday, I got ready and met Katherine for lunch.  Then I went to the Texas State Fair! I walked around looking for the fried food competition.  This year's most creative was fried butter and best tasting was fried peaches and cream.  I also had a corny dog, which is just a corn dog.

This is Big Tex, he talks to ya'll and let's ya'll know when the shows are

You can get your teeth whitened at the fair, this looks terrifying!

Fried Butter: tastes like buttered doughnut holes

Fried peaches: hot peaches dipped in frosting not much breading, pretty good
My feet were starting to hurt from walking around and I still had those blisters so I went home.  I found Katherine there and we hung out for a bit then met Ben at at the restaurant for dinner. The salad I had was really good; it had avocado, spinach, bacon, goat cheese and much more.   We went home, got comfortable and eventually went to bed.  I headed to Austin the next day.
